PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated October 23, 2026

Blockfolk is a block puzzle game made by Kiln Digital Labs LLC ("Kiln Digital Labs", "we", "us"), an Idaho limited liability company. This policy explains what information is handled when you play Blockfolk on Android or iOS, and the choices you have.

The short version: there are no accounts, and your progress and settings stay on your device. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to see, in anonymous totals, how the game is played. The game shows ads from Google AdMob, and Google may collect some device information to show and measure those ads. You can control ad personalization in the game's Settings.

Information that stays on your device

Blockfolk saves the following only on your phone or tablet, in the app's private storage. We never receive it:

  • Your game progress: which shapes you have filled, best scores, and your daily streak.
  • Your settings: sound effects, vibration, and the daily reminder.
  • Your power-ups (bombs, swaps, undos), the daily gift, and free-refill timers.
  • Whether you bought "Remove ads" (the app store also keeps a record of the purchase).

Game analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)

Blockfolk has no sign-up, no account, and no chat, and we do not collect your name, email, contacts, photos, or precise location. To understand how the game is played and to improve it, we use Google Analytics for Firebase, a Google service. It records game events, such as starting and finishing a round, the shape and mode played, daily-challenge streaks, and whether optional videos were watched, together with:

  • A random app-instance ID that Firebase creates for this install. This is not your advertising ID, which we do not collect for analytics.
  • Device and app information: model, operating system, language, and app version.
  • Your approximate region (country or city), derived from your IP address.

How we use analytics

We see this information only as statistics in the Firebase console, for example how many players finish a shape or come back the next day. We do not use it to identify you or to personalize ads. Google processes it under the Firebase privacy and security terms (firebase.google.com/support/privacy). Firebase Remote Config is also used to adjust game settings, such as how often ads appear, without an app update; it does not collect additional information. Deleting the game removes the app-instance ID from your device.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Blockfolk is free and supported by ads shown through Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. To show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, prevent fraud, and measure results, Google's software in the game may collect:

  • Device identifiers, such as the advertising ID (Android) or IDFA (iOS, only if you allow tracking): for showing and measuring ads, and ad personalization if you agree.
  • IP address and the approximate location derived from it: for showing ads that fit your region and language, and fraud prevention.
  • Device and app information (model, operating system, language, app version): for showing ads that work on your device.
  • Ad interactions (ads shown, tapped, or watched): for measuring ads and limiting repeats.
  • Diagnostic information, such as ad loading errors: for keeping ads working.

Your ad choices

Google collects and uses this information under its own policies: "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services" (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites) and the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy). We do not receive information from Google that identifies you; we see only overall ad statistics.

Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and some US states), the game shows Google's consent form before any personalized ads, and you can change your choice at any time in the game under Settings › Privacy and ad choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, in your phone's settings.

Video ads only play when you tap a button marked "Watch video" with an "AD" label. Ads between rounds never appear during play. If you buy "Remove ads", banner ads and ads between rounds stop; optional videos stay available if you choose to watch them.

Purchases

Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see your payment card or billing details. The store tells the game only what was bought ("Remove ads" or a power-up pack), so it can switch ads off, add the power-ups, and restore "Remove ads".

Permissions the game uses

  • Internet and network state: to load ads, send game analytics, and handle purchases. The game itself works offline.
  • Vibration: for optional vibration feedback, which you can turn off in Settings.
  • Advertising ID (Android): used by Google AdMob as described above.
  • Notifications (optional): only if you turn on the daily reminder. The reminder is scheduled on your device; no notification data is sent to us.
  • The game does not ask for your microphone, camera, contacts, photos, files, or precise location.

Children

Blockfolk is intended for teens and adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Ads in the game are limited to a teen-appropriate content rating. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information (for example by email), contact us and we will delete it.

How long information is kept

Game data on your device stays until you delete the game. Emails to us are kept only as long as needed to help you, and no longer than two years. Analytics data is kept by Google for the retention period we set in Firebase (14 months). Google keeps advertising information according to its own policies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU, the UK GDPR, or US state laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit the use of your personal information, and to object to personalized advertising. Because Blockfolk has no accounts, most requests are handled directly on your device (delete the game) or through Google's tools for advertising data (Settings › Privacy and ad choices, your phone's ad settings, and Google My Ad Center at myadcenter.google.com). We do not sell personal information. For any request, email privacy@kilndigitallabs.com; you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

International users

Kiln Digital Labs is based in the United States. Google may process advertising and analytics information in the United States and other countries, with safeguards described in its own policies.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page, and for important changes we will tell you in the game or in the app store listing.
